Comparative study between intraumbilical oxytocin injection and placental cord drainage in management of third stage of labour

Background: Active management of the third stage labour is common practice today that leads to significant decrease in postpartum hemorrhage and maternal peripartum mortality morbidity rates. Objective: To compare effectiveness intraumbilical oxytocin cord drainage labour. Patients Methods: This study a prospective randomized clinical trial was conducted at El-Hussein University hospital-Al-Azher University, during period from June 2020 December 2020. 150 women delivery ward participated Outcome: Third duration, main hemoglobin drop after presence retained placenta necessitates manual removal. Results: According duration reduction level, all groups differed significantly. Conclusion: results this study, injection shorten level.
